Jonathan Scott Frakes (19 Ağustos 1952 doğumlu) Amerikalı aktör ve yönetmen. Frakes, televizyon dizisi Star Trek: Yeni Nesil ve sonraki filmlerde Komutan William T. Riker'ın canlandırılması ile tanınır. Frakes ayrıca Beyond In Faith: Fact or Fiction adlı televizyon dizisine ev sahipliği yaptı. 2011 yılının Haziran ayında, Frakes, Tarih Kanalı belgeselini Lee ve Grant'i anlattı. Disney televizyon dizisi Gargoyles'ta David Xanatos'un seslendirdi.
Star Trek: First Contact ve Star Trek: Insurrection'da oynadı. Birkaç Star Trek televizyon dizisi ve The Orville bölümlerini yönetti. The Abductors: Conspiracy adlı romanın yazarıdır.
Hayatı
Frakes, Bellefonte, Pennsylvania'da, Doris J. (née Yingling) ve Dr. James R. Frakes'ın oğlu olarak dünyaya geldi. O çoğunlukla Alman ve İngiliz asıllıdır. Pennsylvania, Bethlehem'de büyüdü. 1970 yılında, Bethlehem'in Liberty Lisesi'nden mezun oldu. Özgürlük Lisesi Grenadier Band ile çalıştı. Frakes, 1974’te Pennsylvania Eyalet Üniversitesi’nde Tiyatro Sanatları ve Güzel Sanatlar Lisans derecesini aldı ve 1976’da Harvard Üniversitesi’nden mezun oldu.
Babası, 1958-2001 yılları arasında Lehigh Üniversitesi'nde Amerikan Edebiyatı bölümünde Edmund W. Fairchild Profesörü olduğu New York Times Kitap İncelemesi, kitap editörü ve İngiliz edebiyatı profesörüdür. James R. Frakes 2002 başlarında öldü. Frakes'in 1997'de pankreas kanserinden ölen küçük bir kardeşi Daniel vardı.
